Charles Sinclair for security minister?
THE EDITOR, Sir:
My calls for a safe pair of hands like Dr Christopher Tufton's for commissioner of police have been getting some resistance. According to some folks, why would you put your best player in such a position, worse if he's leadership material.
They also gave the example of the People's National Party administration sending their best player, Dr Peter Phillips, to the Ministry of National Security, and under his watch we became, murder capital of the world. But I counteract by saying, who is leading the People's National Party now?
I've been hearing the likes of Senator Charles Sinclair calling for a state of emergency for a while now. Recently, he called for the police commissioner to go. He said he needs someone tough like Owen Ellington.
Since Senator Sinclair lives in St James, it may be useful to have a national security minister from a hotspot.
