So what if you dress like a whore?

Published:Tuesday | January 23, 2018 | 12:04 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

A letter writer in your publication of January 17 said that if one wanted to be treated with respect, one should not dress like a whore. This was in reference to the protesters who dressed in black at the Golden Globe Awards.

Whores are children of parents, some are mothers themselves, and many are placing food on the table for their dependents. What is wrong if a whore dresses in a particular way? Is it not marketing, a kind of advertisement? Who decides what is to be worn?

Does the manner in which one adorns oneself detract from the quality of the work being performed? I think not, except, of course, when one turns up in a birthday suit.
