Stop sacrificing news and courtesy, TVJ
THE EDITOR, Sir:
I have become concerned with Television Jamaica's (TVJ) schedule for the airing of its nightly news. Many nights after reaching home late from work or from other engagements, I sit and wait in vain for the arrival of the nightly news. Wednesday, February 7, 2018, was no different.
I understand that money may have clout and will influence what programmes are given preference, but I encourage TVJ not to sacrifice decency and common courtesy in the interest of profit. I expect the media to uphold high moral standards and set an example for society to follow.
A simple advisory or notice informing viewers of the postponement from its regular schedule, or cancellation of the nightly news or any regular scheduled programme, will suffice.
