Chaos reigns in Barbican Square roadwork

The respect a Government has for its people will always manifest in the courtesy with which service is delivered. So as I traverse Barbican Road on to East Kings House Road, I am concerned that there is only one obscure sign at the entrance to Russell Heights to assist motorist, even though the major roadwork taking place has made use of this area unsafe.

As I pass the area several times a day, I observe that there are no flag persons evident or any other method employed to direct drivers as to where to go as the various areas receive treatment. It is a disgrace that the National Works Agency (NWA) would treat the people of Jamaica with such scorn.

I am mindful of the need to improve the road, but I am concerned that as this work continues, there are obligations that must be met. I was so angry two Sundays ago to be denied access to the Birdsucker Road without notice, adding more than 30 minutes to what was originally a 10-minute journey.
