End Sykes charade now
THE EDITOR, Sir:
In addition to the points that have been made in The Gleaner's editorial ('More waffle on Justice Sykes') on Friday, February 16, 2018, the prime minister is reminded that in appointing Justice Bryan Sykes as acting chief justice, he has signalled to the whole judiciary that the Judicial Services Commission, which appoints all judges other than the president of the Court of Appeal, is led by someone who is on probation.
I am sure that this has been bought to the attention of the Government. The current crisis must be ended immediately.
