Thieves targeting Allman Town, Woodford Park
THE EDITOR, Sir:
Recently, I was on my way within my community at an intersection of Dames Road in Kingston when, all of a sudden, I was pounced upon by two males who attacked me in a bid to take away my bag, which only had documents that were of no use to them.
I fought like there was no tomorrow to hold on to the bag, but without success. After putting up a good fight, one of the men fisted me in my mouth. The pain was excruciating.
It was at this point that I had to let go of my valuables and allow the thief to take away the bag and run. The thieves must have had a heart attack when they opened the bag and saw the contents: files, two pounds of rice, and a package of seasoned liver.
I call for the security forces to patrol the Allman Town, Woodford Park, and Marescaux Road areas, which are havens for thieves who continually hold up persons going about their business in the evenings. Recently, a Mico University student had his throat slashed and phone stolen.
There are persons going around on motorcycles, in taxis and private vehicles robbing persons of their valuables.
Mr Commissioner, please see what you can do for us citizens, who reside in these communities and are suffering at the hands of thieves.
