Denbigh gospel and garbage combo
THE EDITOR, Sir:
Littering is a big problem in Jamaica, and whatever the gathering, there seems to be no plan as to how to manage waste.
Jesus, without much forward planning, fed a multitude of people. First there was order Luke 9:14. He made the people to sit by fifties, because there was much grass in the place. He prayed, then broke the bread and fish, and gave it to his disciples for distribution.
The ground was littered with fish and bread. But even though they were out in the desert, even the fragments that were on the ground were collected. No waste, no litter,
All groups that organise gatherings, whether outdoor or indoor, should take example from this narrative.
The gospel show at Denbigh recently hosted some of our best gospel artistes. But alas, after the show ,there was a sea of garbage where the worshippers showed that there was no thought given to the environment.
Therefore, promoters of gospel should honour the Word and ministry by making adequate provision for garbage collection.
