Manchester Parish Library serving community

Published:Tuesday | August 28, 2018 | 12:04 AM

This year, the Manchester Parish Library celebrates its 80th anniversary and must be commended for the role it plays in helping to meet the information, education and social needs of the community. I worked there as an intern for a few weeks and observed the many programmes and services that are offered.

The National Reading Competition, computer classes for senior citizens and other members of the community, homework assistance, summer school and games sessions are a few of the programmes the library offers. Computer access and wireless Internet are services patrons access free of cost. The mounted displays that are presented time after time are informative and educational.

The staff at the Manchester Parish Library must be commended for their hard work and creativity in creating an environment that is attractive and welcoming.
