Reach out to mentally ill

Every time someone famous dies, this is the response we get from the general public: 'Stop doing drugs, kids', or they lament the fact that not even the rich are satisfied, but that is just the point: No matter how famous you are or how rich you are, you can't hide from deteriorating mental health.

No one can tell what exactly is going on in your life, but it is the duty of family and friends to look out for each other. If you notice that they sleep in more, they sleep less, they eat less or they'd rather to be alone, then reach out and see if there is something you can do to help. But at the same time, you have to remember, everyone will process this differently. They might not be ready to talk or it might just be their personality to be isolated.

Those who experience trouble with their mental health need a listening ear whenever they are ready, not when you are. Don't try to pressure them into talking, because it only makes it worse.

What people should really try to do is to research how to deal with these people, where they can get help, and how they can help.

Most important to parents: You can support a child financially a thousand times over, but that will never take the place of having someone to tell how their day was and what's bothering them.
