Fight crime with spiritual warfare
THE EDITOR, Sir:
The level of crime and violence in Jamaica is quite frightening, to say the least. Nonetheless, it is nothing strange to persons who understand spiritual warfare.
The Holy Spirit, in Ephesians 6:12, says: "We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but principalities and powers, against rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
It is the demonic nature of murder, for example, that causes the carnal man to be confused and rendered helpless as it relates to curbing crime.
What is the solution? Warfare prayers coupled with a prolonged period of fasting and consecration before God. He says, "The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much ... and this kind goeth not out, but by prayer and fasting."
The above-stated assertions may be viewed as clichÈs to the carnal mind.
I've heard much talk of things getting worse even though the Church is praying. However, God is not mocked. God will not wave a magic wand and fix Jamaica's ills.
Whenever a nation's heart is far from God, it automatically brings curses to such a nation. It is only our obedience to Him that will allow His hand to move on this land like He desires to.
