Lock-off is for exclusive use of NWC

The National Water Commission (NWC) takes note of the letter to the editor published Tuesday, January 22, 2019 requesting that we replace a faulty lock-off at a customer’s property.

While we will be acting to investigate and replace any defective NWC lock-off at the property, it is to be noted that the NWC lock-off (situated between the meter and the public main) is for the exclusive use of the NWC alone and is not intended for the customer’s use.

In fact, customers are expected to have a lock-off of their own installed on the connection between the meter and the rest of their property. This customer lock-off is to be used by the customer when needed to shut off water to their property.

We trust that the above information is of help to other customers of the National Water Commission also.
