Intervention needed at St Ann’s Bay Hospital
THE EDITOR, Sir:
I am writing to voice my concern regarding the deplorable condition of the St Ann’s Bay Hospital.
The patients only get A1 treatment when their families bribe the staff. It’s a disgrace!
My mother was hospitalised there two years ago, and I knew she was not going to make it out of there alive. Too many of the staff are incompetent. They could not even change a catheter! I have a friend who has been admitted there right now, and not even a bath they would give to the patient.
I am calling on the health minister to have someone on his staff go and investigate, put a stop to the inhumane treatment of patients, and make sure to hire competent staff.
I have friends who have had the misfortune to go to the hospital. They were so disgusted that they took pictures of the surroundings. One took a photo of the doctor’s report, took it to their doctor abroad, and low and behold, the diagnosis was wrong! This has happened to other people who I know.
Please do something. A lot of my young friends have lost their lives at St Ann’s Bay Hospital due to the incompetence of the staff.
Your consideration of this matter is greatly appreciated.
