Seaga was a giant among men
THE EDITOR, Sir:
The death of the venerable and much-admired Edward Seaga leaves a significant gap in the realms of public policy and politics.
Though a colourful politician, Edward Seaga will be remembered for the litany of institutions he established during his stint in public life, along with the high quality of standards he ensured for the management of the country’s affairs.
Mr Seaga served as an example of prodigious output to all individuals with political aspirations. His mind represented that of the meticulous planner who consistently proposed solutions to national problems, even in old age.
After retiring from the political arena, he garnered significant respect as the chancellor of the University of Technology, Jamaica, and a frequent contributor to both national newspapers.
Jamaica is, indeed, poorer due to the passing of the legendary Edward Seaga, who was indeed a giant among men in his time.
