Husbands, love your wives
THE EDITOR, Sir:
Domestic violence in our society has now reached a frightening level, which is cause for alarm that shows us, as a nation, that the Devil is on the warpath, trying to put up resistance against Almighty God and His people.
The word of God doesn’t make the news; only things that show frightening signs to the country, such as crime and violence, corruption, injustices and disrespect to our leaders and others around us who we correspond with from day to day.
I am tired of hearing of these troubling issues on the island that God gave us to grow our children, and study and work for the benefit of a better Jamaica; where other countries can see us as the most outstanding nation in many positive areas, such as sports, tourism and growth to swell our gross domestic product.
I am appealing to all couples in Jamaica, both married and in common-law unions, if there is a problem in the relationship, first turn to God and then seek help from a counsellor. But don’t turn to heated arguments, because the result of that can be murder.
As a man of God in the Anglican Church of Jamaica & the Cayman Islands and serving on a school board and PTA committee, I am saying to all couples, you go into a relationship because of love, either at first sight or otherwise, so let that be your direction until the Heavenly Master says it’s time for death to separate you.
Husbands, love your wife and children; you are the head of the house, just like Christ is the head of the Church; worship together, pray together, eat together; and, finally, remember communication is the key.May God bless and keep you all.
