Let’s enter 2020 with hope
THE EDITOR, Madam:
This New year, my fellow Jamaicans, must be a time to reflect on the Lord and the goodness that He gives us through the many decades of problems we have faced. Let us all be kind and loving to others who need it most, and pray that those who carry out crime and murder in our society will give up their weapons of destruction and turn to the Almighty God for a new heart and mind of peace.
Jamaica is a beautiful island, surrounded by wood and water, and we must maintain the image on the world stage of a blessed nation, especially with a Miss World and all the other sportsmen and sportswomen who make us a superstar.
For this year, I am calling on all the men in Jamaica to serve on a school PTA committee or board to mentor young boys and girls, who come from crime-prone areas, and show them that there is a better way of life after school, instead of turning to crime.
We must show the youth the way to skills training and sports, which will help the economy to grow.
I also call on the Church to do more in this fight against crime.
May God bless and keep Jamaica, land we love, in this new year 2020 so that we will continue see hope and prosperity.
