Hold corporate bodies accountable
THE EDITOR, Madam:
I have a recommendation for the head of the parliamentary committee that monitors government entities.
Get a list of every government entity and ask the respective permanent secretaries that they report to, to indicate the status of their reporting. We should publish the entities that do not submit their reports.
I used to work with one of these government companies and I thought it was the norm that all government entities adhered to the Public Bodies Regulation.
Financial reports are done monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annually.
The ministry that our entity reported to had an officer from that monitored everything that was done.
It would, therefore, seem that there are different rules for the Medes and the Persians.
