Wrong formula for redundancy compensation

Published:Friday | June 26, 2020 | 12:09 AM

THE EDITOR, Madam:

I write to indicate an error in your editorial of June 17, ‘Put unemployment insurance on the agenda’.

The formula cited for redundancy compensation is instead the formula for computing notice pay.

The formula for redundancy compensation is two weeks per year, up to 10 years, and three weeks per year thereafter – not ab initio – unless, of course, more favourable terms have been agreed between the parties.
