The Second Batallion Jamaica Regiment stood at attention in preparation for an inspection by Governor General Sir Patrick Allen. The hooves of their horses soon hit the pavement in unison, creating a thunderous 'applause', before the playing of the national anthem.

The event, which marks the beginning of the 2017-2018 legislative year, started with the delivery of the Throne Speech by the Governor General, who outlined the Government’s priorities for the new fiscal year.
