American author Ashley Smith once said, "Life is full of beauty. Notice it," and we here at Flair can't help but agree. Sometimes beauty not only lies in what it is, but what it can be.
Are you one of those women who use beauty products just for what they are? Or maybe you're the type to throw out beauty products because you could not have used them in the first place? Newsflash: you don't have to. So drop those make-up brushes, step away from your beauty kit, and let us take you on this DIY tour so you are able to repurpose beauty products you already have to match your current situation.
EYESHADOW AS HIGHLIGHT
If you're all about the shimmer and the shine, then you can substitute your gold eyeshadow, for instance, for a bronzer and glow baby!
MASCARA AS EYELINER
Liquid eyeliners and mascaras are quite similar, so if you've run out of that type of eyeliner, don't fear, mascara will be there to save the day. Just use the edge, dip a little in the container and draw away.
EYESHADOW AS NAIL POLISH
This is a new phenomenon sweeping the beauty scene. Just choose any colour you want from eyeshadow palette, mix and mingle if you must, add it to some clear nail polish and voila! You have your very own nail polish.
P.S. You can also apply it over your polished nail by shading it, then seal it right in with a top coat.
LIPSTICK AS BLUSH
Fresh out of blush? Or you just forgot it? Use your red lipstick to get those cheeks rosy in no time. Remember to blend responsibly.
BLUSH AS LIP COLOUR
The same can be done in reverse. Apply a balm as the base, then add the blush to your lips, and if you want, you can add a lip gloss on top for extra shine.
LIPSTICK AS CONCEALER
Lipstick as concealer has been a beauty hack for quite some time. Just apply the lipstick below the eyes, blend and apply your foundation for coverage. It works wonders.
FOUNDATION AS CONCEALER
If you have purchased foundation that is too light or too dark for you, no worries. Use it instead as a concealer to contour your face. They actually last longer and will actually save you a bundle.
FINGERS AS BRUSHES AND SPONGES
Forgot those brushes? No problem. Your fingers can function as a great blender for eyeshadow, concealer, foundation, even blush.
