The highly anticipated BET Awards took place last night, and many tuned in to see the drab, the fab and all the winners and performances in between.
DJ Khaled and son Asahd stole the red carpet. New Edition performing after receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award was a sight to behold for fans everywhere! Beyoncé certainly wasn't 'Sorry' as she collected the award for Video of the Year, and Video Director of the Year. Bruno Mars snagged the award for Best Male R&B and Pop Award for 24K Magic. And how could we leave out Chance the Rapper? The youngest to ever win the BET Humanitarian Award, he also walked away with Best New Artiste. Remy Ma’s win for Best Female Hip Hop Artiste caused controversy online, as everyone thought Nicki Minaj had it in her Gucci bag. It seems that she can’t spell win this year after all.
Meek Mills and Safaree Beef
What’s the deal with Safaree and Meek Mills? According to social media, Safaree was allegedly jumped by Meek Mills’ crew, and Safaree called him out on social media for using his ‘boys’ to do his job. But everyone seems to be on the fence about this - saying that the allegations seems false and a ploy to get five minutes of fame. 'Throwing shade like it’s sunny,' perhaps? Ask Nicki.
Oldie But Goodie: The Notebook
Romance lovers everywhere are feeling nostalgic. The Notebook turns 13, and everyone is swooning. The 'chick flick' follows the life of teenage lovers who despite going their separate ways, later reunited, choose real love and lived happily ever after. We will watch and enjoy this move over and over for ever after.
