Miss Universe Jamaica Davina Bennett, was welcomed with open arms when she returned to the island this morning.

After her historic performance at Miss Universe placing third out of a field of 92, contestants at Sunday's finals in Las Vegas, the statuesque beauty was notably touched by the fanfare that greeted her inside the Executive Pineapple Lounge at the Norman Manley International Airport.

“I have to say, it’s like I am the person that won, and it is not a feeling that I can explain,” said a clearly overjoyed  Bennett. “You are truly royal and I want you to be an inspiration to other Jamaican women to be natural,” Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sports Olivia 'Babsy' Grange, told her.

Though not well,  Bennett stood proudly with elegance, grace and poise during photographs with her team, sponsors, government officials and numerous supporters, who were elated to be apart of her homecoming. Being the trooper that she is, Bennett indulged in signing a number of autographs before heading out on her long journey to Montego Bay, where she will be a guest of honour at tonights dinner and awards ceremony for the Global Tourism Conference.
