KINGSTON, Jamaica:

The Education Ministry is to provide an update tomorrow on the performance of students in this year's Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE).

Both examinations are administered by the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC).

The CAPE results were released over the weekend and the CSEC results are expected to be published later this week.

CXC says students may access their results at the ors.cxc.org/studentportal.

Jamaica's performance in critical subject areas such as mathematics and English language have lagged behind several other regional countries.

Last year, the Education Minister Ronald Thwaites described the results as below acceptable levels.
