'The Innovators' launches Season Four
After three successful seasons, 'The Innovators' launched its fourth season recently.
This season promises an interesting array of professionals looking to take their business to the next level. Hosts Gary Matalon and Yaneek Page will be there to guide them along the way, with the practical advice and mentoring they've become known for.
This season's episodes will be at a new time, 8:30 p.m. on Mondays on TVJ for 11 weeks, starting tonight.
There are 10 assignments (participants) this year, with a final grand prize of $250,000 courtesy of JN Small Business Loans. This will go to the business that undergoes the most dramatic transformation.
"For any business, an injection of capital is valuable, but for new businesses especially, this prize money can go a long way in helping them become a force to be reckoned with. We expect that it'll be a great incentive for the assignments to work even harder," said Matalon.
A new feature of this season is a 'secret shopper', who goes undercover to use the services and provide feedback from an authentic experience. Business lines this season include rabbit meat production, Trinidadian food service, hat manufacturing, artiste management/entertainment, wedding planning, and security services.
'The Innovators' has also been expanding its audience regionally, now airing in 18 countries. Plans are also under way for a Nigerian 'Innovators'.
"'The Innovators' is an original Jamaican series that can be very valuable for entrepreneurship development in other countries with a goal of boosting enterprise," said co-host Page, who is also the creator and executive producer.
"We are working with a Nigerian company to produce our show in Nigeria as there is growing support for entrepreneurship development and the timing and opportunities are ideal. We are thrilled about these new developments which are in line with a goal of going global."
'The Innovators' will also be presenting an upcoming awards show for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises to be launched in 2015.
