Police and customs officials have seized more than $6 million worth of compressed ganja at the Kingston Wharves, Port Bustamante in Kingston.

The seizure was made yesterday by members of the Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division and the Jamaica Customs’ Contraband Enforcement Team.

The ganja, weighing approximately 1,751 pounds, was found during a search of a container at the wharves.

It was reportedly wrapped in 370 parcels among household effects.

The container, which arrived in Kingston from Indonesia, was scheduled to depart Port Bustamante yesterday for Suriname.

Yesterday’s ganja find, follows a seizure on Sunday worth $3 million.

The police say no arrest has been made in connection with the seizures.
