Parliamentarians to pay tribute to Roger Clarke today

The House of Representatives will resume its sittings today.



Members of the House are expected to pay tribute to late Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries and Member of Parliament for Central Westmoreland, Roger Clarke this afternoon.



Clarke died on August 28 in the United States.



He died from a suspected heart attack while attempting to return to Jamaica after undergoing back surgery in Miami.



Clarke’s body is expected to return to the island tomorrow.



His official funeral will take place at the St George’s Anglican Church in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland this Saturday with interment at Glen Islay in Williamsfield, Westmoreland.



In the meantime, The House of Representative is also expectedo begin debating the Employment (Flexible Work Arrangements) (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill and the General Consumption Tax (Amendment) Bill today.
