Parent Teacher’s Association urges parents to take Chinkungunya seriously

President of the National Parent Teacher’s Association of Jamaica Everton Hannam is calling on parents to take the necessary steps to safeguard children against the Chikungunya virus.



He says parents must monitor and adhere to instructions issued by the Ministry of Health to limit the spread of the disease.



According to Hannam, the matter must be taken seriously.



The NPTAJ President is also urging Parent-Teachers' Associations to raise the matter with schools to ensure the appropriate preventative measures are being put in place to fight the spread of Chinkungunya.
