Pray without ceasing

Published:Wednesday | September 17, 2014 | 12:00 AM

HELLO MI neighbour! The inhabitants of the earth are just plain tired. Aren't you? Some unrealistically desire residency on another planet. Billions pine for the return of sanity. The poor are tired of fighting in futility for survival! The innocent are tired of warmongering: tribes and nations fight daily over territories as they try to prove who is more powerful or wicked. People of faith pray daily for the return of the Saviour who will once and for all set things straight. "Pray without ceasing!"

Diseases and viruses are waging war against us and our fighting power is woefully lacking. Our scientists are stretched. Hundreds of people are dead as the worst Ebola virus outbreak in history sweeps through West Africa. And there are some other deadly viruses that we have not even heard of. The Marburg virus, like Ebola, causes convulsions and bleeding of mucous membranes, skin and organs. The Hantavirus, which causes lung disease, also leads to kidney failure. The Lassa virus, which is characterised by fever and bleeding disorders, can also progress to high fever, shock and death. Please research.

Seems that we are in big trouble around here! Most of the creatures on the planet don't like us and would pay any price for our abolishment. If the raging lion could catch us, he would not be more merciful than the rattlesnake, the bear, the shark, the crocodile, the scorpion or the mosquito. Roaches do not try to crawl over our food for the fun of it or to make it more palatable. They are trying to poison us! Earthquakes, hurricanes, tidal waves and typhoons do not occur to give us goose pimples. Are we seeing the seeming conspiracy?

Let's reason out this thing. Since we are one of a kind and since almost all of creation doesn't seem to like us, doesn't it make a lot of sense for us to come together and start loving and helping one another to survive? Sadly, behaviourally many are snakes, lions, tigers, scorpions, crocodiles, etc, to one another. Is the animal kingdom laughing at us? Weren't we the ones given the gift of laughter? This world was calibrated to run on the fuel of love. Unless we abide by the Creator's command to love one another and do unto others as we would have them do unto us, we will always want to destroy it or run away to nowhere. We have been endowed with unlimited intelligence and love. Need I say more?

Someone below needs your help. Will you help? Thanks in advance.
