A man wanted by the Jamaican police for a 2006 murder has been captured in the United States.

He has been identified as Dennis Donovan Kennedy, also known as Spooner.

The Gleaner/Power News Centre understands that Kennedy was arrested by US Marshals in Brooklyn, New York, last week.

It is understood that he has been charged with illegal re-entry.

Checks online revealed that Kennedy is being held at a federal detention facility in Brooklyn.

In January last year he was among several persons listed by the police who were wanted for murder.

The St Andrew North Police revealed then that Kennedy was wanted for the murder of Richard Barrett on December 21, 2006 along Constant Spring Road.
