Firearms, ammo seized at wake for Mario Deane
The St James Police has revealed that six handguns and 64 rounds of assorted ammunition were seized this morning in the community of Rosemount.
According to the police, the seizure came during a wake for Mario Deane, the construction worker, who died on Independence Day, three days after he was brutally beaten while in the custody of the Barnett Street Police.
Senior Superintendent Egbert Parkins, who heads the St James Police, say approximately 4:10 a.m, a police patrol drove into the crowed wake, where residents were being entertained by a sound system.
They observed suspicious movements around a parked motorcar and went to check.
During a search the weapons were found.
