Haile Selassie High School located in South St Andrew is set to become the third institution issued with tablet computers under the government’s $1.4 billion dollar Tablets in Schools pilot programme.

Salt Savannah Primary and Infant School in Clarendon and Cavaliers All-age School in West Rural St Andrew are the schools that have already received tablets.

Minister of Science, Technology, Energy and Mining Phillip Paulwell, says 840 tablet computers will be distributed at Haile Selassie on September 29.

Paulwell says the project will help to advance the students’ educational development and equip them with technology skills.

He was speaking at the recent opening of the Caribbean Palm Estate Information Technology resource and skills training centre in South West St Andrew.
