KINGSTON, Jamaica:

The way has been cleared for members of the Jamaica Union of Travellers Association (JUTA) to continue to operate at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston.

This was made possible after the JUTA Kingston Chapter today settled a portion of its debt to the management of the airport.

Chapter President Neol Williams declined to disclose the amount paid.

The organisation was given until today to clear its debt to the airport or cease operating from the facility.

JUTA reportedly owes the airport a total of $28 million.

Williams says the parties are to meet again to discuss the way forward.
