Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller this morning led a clean-up effort to control the spread of the chikungunya in her South West St Andrew constituency.

From as early as 7 o’clock, people were out to begin the exercise.

Simpson Miller joined community members in the Payne Land Division, along Spanish Town Road in clearing the area of debris and possible mosquito breeding sites.

Among the agencies participating in the clean-up were the National Solid Waste Management Authority, the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation, the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency management and the local government ministry.
