Family of man who allegedly died on Spanish Town hospital floor considering legal action
The family of Jason Forbes, the man who allegedly died on the floor of the Spanish Town Hospital last week, says it is considering legal action against the Government.
The family has retained the services of attorney-at-law, Alando Terrelonge.
Terrelonge says the family reported that the 34-year-old man was on the hospital floor for 14 hours crying for his stomach.
He says the family further reported that up to the time of his death he did not receive any medical treatment.
The attorney says during the ordeal no regard was shown for human life and dignity.
The attorney says the family is awaiting the outcome of a post-mortem before proceeding with legal action.
Terrelonge says the family is appealing for financial help to get an independent pathologist to oversee the post mortem and to bury Forbes.
The attorney explained that the family was told that the autopsy was set for Monday but they asked that it be put on hold.
He says Forbes’ family is saddened that it took a tragic incident for the authorities to move to review the accident and emergency policies at the Spanish Town hospital.
