Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller says Health Minister Dr Fenton Ferguson has done nothing wrong and she sees no reason to fire him for his leadership of the response to chikungunya.

The Opposition has led calls for Ferguson to resign or be sacked over what they say was his poor handling of the response and the lack of trust in the Health Ministry.

However, Simpson Miller told journalists this morning that she has every confidence in the Health Minister.

The embattled health minister, Dr Fenton Ferguson, in defending his stewardship has asked critics to examine his track record.
