G2K president to replace Tufton as JLP candidate in southwest St Elizabeth
The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) is to officially present the president of its youth affiliate arm, Generation 2000 (G2K), as its candidate for the southwest St Elizabeth constituency this afternoon.
The JLP leader Andrew Holness is to present Floyd Green at a meeting of supporters at the Newell High School in the constituency. The meeting is scheduled to start at 5:00 this afternoon.
Green replaces Dr Christopher Tufton who was ousted last year after he was involved in a public spat with Holness during the height a contentious leadership battle. Tufton had backed Audley Shaw, who is presently the Opposition spokesman on Finance, to replace Holness as leader of the party. Shaw, however, lost the battle.
