The family of an elderly woman who died at the May Pen Hospital earlier this week is demanding answers.

According to the family, the woman died at the hospital Monday after waiting for eight hours without receiving medical attention.

The family says the 68-year-old former stroke-patient was brought to the hospital about 10 Monday morning after being referred by a private physician.

A relative says despite pleading for assistance, it was when she took her last breath that the doctors began tending to her.

Another relative allegedly became enraged at the news of the woman’s death prompting the May Pen Police to be called in to calm the flaring tempers.

Efforts to contact the hospital to get a comment on the matter were unsuccessful.

The incident follows the death of Jason Forbes at the Spanish Town Hospital in St Catherine two weeks ago.

He was reportedly at the hospital for more than 14 hours without being seen when he died.

His family has said they are considering legal action.
