Published:Tuesday | October 14, 2014 | 9:29 AM

Livingston Cain, the juror in the Vybz Kartel murder case who allegedly tried to bribe other members of the panel, is expected to go on trial today in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.

Cain is charged with five counts of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

He is also charged with one count of conspiring with unknown persons to pervert the course of justice.

Prosecutors are alleging that one day before the verdict in Kartel's trial, Cain met with the jury foreman in the Supreme Court library and told her he realised that she had some influence on other members of the panel.

It is further alleged that he offered her $500,000 to return a not-guilty verdict and promised that the payment would be made the following day.

Cain has denied any wrongdoing.
