All Members of Parliament are scheduled to meet today with Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller regarding the chikungunya virus and the deadly Ebola virus.

The meeting is set for 11 a.m. at Jamaica House.

The Government has said it has heightened its preparations for Ebola even as it works to control the spread of chikungunya.

Last week, Simpson Miller announced that the Government has allocated a further $350 million for the national health emergency response.

She said the money would help towards the chikungunya response and Ebola preparations.

The Government had first announced a $150 million allocation while the local Government Minister had said the National Solid Waste Management Authority would get $140 million to help to clear the garbage backlog.
