The Education Ministry says two teachers and a student of the Vere Technical High School in Clarendon died in the last 24 hours from suspected complications related to the chikungunya virus.

This is the fifth incident involving school-related deaths being linked to chikungunya.

Earlier this week, a student of the Shortwood Teachers' College died after complaining of suffering from chik-V-related symptoms.

There were also cases involving students from Camperdown High in Kingston and Mona Primary School in St Andrew.
