The St James man who is charged with the 2013 murder of his girlfriend and their infant child, had his bail extended when he appeared in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's court Wednesday, as his case file was incomplete.

Alejandre Green is charged in connection with the deaths of 20-year-old Melissa Evans, and the couple's four-year-old son, Jeliana Green, whose bodies were found near a National Water Commission pump just outside Montego Bay, on December 28, 2013.

Evans and young Jeliana had been reported missing on December 27, after they had gone to purchase ice cream and did not return. Evans' body was found with her throat slashed and her head partially severed, while the child's body was found floating in a tank nearby.

Clerk of the court, Reginald England, told presiding magistrate Carolyn Tie that the forensic certificate had not yet been added to the prosecution's case file.

"The forensic certificate is ready, but it is not at hand," said England, who added that telephone records were also outstanding.

Tie subsequently set the case for mention on December 10, and extended Green's bail.
