Errol Mowatt is new fire chief

Mowatt ... replaces Laurie Williams who retired in June

Errol Mowatt is now the head of the Jamaica Fire Brigade.



The Board of Directors of the Jamaica Fire Brigade today announced that Mowatt has been promoted from deputy commissioner to the rank of commissioner.



The promotion took effect October 7.



He replaces Laurie Williams who retired in June.



Mowatt joined the Brigade in 1995 and has served in various capacities.



The Board says Mowatt has participated in various command and management courses and is also a graduate of the Fire Service College in the United Kingdom where he successfully completed both the International Command and the Brigade Command Courses.
