Red Stripe Bags two National Quality Awards
Brewing giant Red Stripe walked away with two awards at the recent National Quality Awards ceremony at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel. The company won the sectional award for Human Resource Focus in the Manufacturing Sector and the overall Award for Excellence in Manufacturing. The National Quality Awards is hosted by the Bureau of Standards Jamaica and seeks to recognise and reward local companies that demonstrate the application of standards and quality systems in both the production of goods and delivery of service.
In the 10 years of the staging of the awards, this is the first time that Red Stripe is taking home the top award for Overall Award for Excellence in Manufacturing. Red Stripe continues to be a dominant force in the manufacturing
sector, being reinforced by the latest two awards to add to its catalogue.
Cedric Blair, managing director Red Stripe, thanked all the teams that helped to facilitate the audits, including the departments of finance, marketing, human resource and supply.
"We are extremely proud of these awards as we continue to create the best performing, most trusted and respected consumer products in the world," Blair said.
The two awards come on the heels of the company's massive haul of awards at the
previous week's Jamaica Manufacturers' Association (JMA) Awards. Red Stripe won five awards at that event, Manufacturer of the Year, and sectional awards for Environment, ICT, Productivity and Champion Exporter.
"They continue to innovate, improve and manufacture quality products which outrank all their competitors and highlight their ability to consistently deliver above par," commented Brian Pengelley, president of the JMA.
