JCC appoints new executive
THE JAMAICA Chamber of Commerce (JCC) yesterday announced the appointment of Warren Albert McDonald as its new president.
The other members of the executive are Oliver Chen, first vice-president; Cathrine Kennedy, second vice-president, and Paul B. Scott, third vice-president. The appointments took effect on October 31.
McDonald was chief executive officer and managing director of Berger Paints Jamaica, the largest manufacturer and distributor of paints in the English-speaking Caribbean, for 19 years (1994-2013). He previously worked with the Monymusk Sugar Estate/Factory and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
The new JCC head is a justice of the peace and lay magistrate for the parish of Kingston, Jamaica, a freemason for the past 28 years, a Kiwanian since 1993, and has been affiliated with the chamber, serving since 2008 on the executive committee. He has served as chairman of the board of the Portmore Community College.
HONOURS DEGREE IN ECONOMICS
McDonald is a graduate of the University of the West Indies with an honours degree in economics. He is a fellow of the Chartered Association of certified accountants, United Kingdom (UK) and also a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica.
He successfully completed several senior executive management programmes at institutions such as Harvard Graduate School of Business (Financial Management); Columbia Graduate School of Business (Marketing Management); and Cranfield School of Management (General Management).

The late past president, Francis 'Paco' Kennedy, died last Saturday in Miami, Florida.
