ST ANN'S BAY, St Ann:

MOTORISTS WILL be faced with major traffic changes in St Ann's Bay as of Monday, a move the St Ann Parish Council said is geared at allowing smoother vehicular and pedestrian traffic flow in the St Ann capital.

One of the main changes is the reversal of traffic over a section of Main Street to a dual carriageway.

The changes are being implemented by the council, in conjunction with the Area Traffic Authority, and have come against the background of concerns by the public about continuing traffic congestion, caused, to some extent, by taxi operators.

Through consultation, prior to the decision being taken, input came from the taxi association, St Ann's Bay Citizens Association, Jamaica Fire Brigade, the police, National Works Agency, councillors and senior officers of the parish council.
