Scotiabank lights up the city

Scotiabank renewed its commitment to lighting up the skies this New Year's Eve,

with the presentation of a

$1-million cheque to the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) on Tuesday. The cheque was presented by Scotiabank Sponsorship Manager Shelley Sykes-Coley to UDC General Manager Desmond Malcolm and Lorna Clarke, director of corporate communications. The bank, which previously partnered with the UDC for the staging of this event, has been sponsor for a number of years.

"It's the perfect end to our 125th anniversary celebrations," stated Monique Todd, vice-president of marketing, public, and corporate affairs. "Scotiabank has always had a vested interest in the redevelopment of downtown. After all, this is where our first location was when the bank opened in 1889."
