Trinidad's Works Minister and Warner agree to mediation over lawsuit

Leader of Trinidad’s Independent Liberal Party, Jack Warner, and Works Minister, Dr Surujrattan Rambachan, have agreed to enter into mediation talks in an attempt to settle a defamation lawsuit brought against Warner by Rambachan.

Warner’s attorney Keith Scotland made the suggestion when the matter came up in court this week.

In response, Rambachan’s attorney Kelvin Ramkissoon, told the court his client was not be opposed to the mediation talks.

Rambachan took action against Warner accusing him of making malicious, reckless and irresponsible statements during a political meeting in Caroni on July 23 last year.
