Man killed in Havana Heights, May Pen

Gunmen shot and killed in a man in May Pen, Clarendon last night as violence continues to rock the parish capital.

The identity of the deceased has not been released.

The police say the incident occurred in Havana Heights, about 11:30 p.m.

It is reported that residents heard explosions and called the police.

There have been at least five murders in the May Pen and surrounding communities in the last two weeks.

In one incident, gunmen shot and killed a mother and her two sons in their house.

Superintendent Carol McKenzie, who is in charge of operations in Clarendon, says the police are concerned about the increase in violence and are taking the necessary steps to stem the problem.
