At the recent launch of the Mercedes Benz GLA45 AMG 4MATIC, the Silver Star Motors team decided to do 10 push-ups in support of the Water Tanks In Schools project which is currently raising money to buy much-needed water tanks for schools in Jamaica.

It was also the official launch for the GLA campaign for November 2014. The campaign includes daily challenges for the GLA so the push-ups was a natural fit. So far, more than 10 schools across the island have received water tanks and the target of half a million dollars now stands at $4480,000. The Mercedes Benz team donated $10,000 towards the Water Tanks in Schools project.

The GLA45 AMG is the most powerful compact SUV in the world, producing 360hp and 450 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.8s and on to a top speed of 250 km/h. This unit also averages 37.7 mpg and a full tank can cover just under 750 km. This model is not only the first in Jamaica, it is also the first in the Caribbean.
