Protestor Howard Hamilton holds up a placard at last night's sitting of the Portmore Municipal council.

The monthly meeting of the Portmore Municipal Council was disrupted last night by two placard-bearing protestors.

The two were demanding information on the state of the Portmore Citizens Advisory Council, which is currently being review by the Local Government Ministry.

The protestors silently held up placards while the Acting Mayor was delivering his report on cleanup activities staged in Portmore last weekend.

The move by the protestors distracted the council forcing the Acting Mayor, Leon Thompson to suspend the standing order of the meeting to address the situation.

Meanwhile, one of the protestors Howard Hamilton told The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre that he wants is the Portmore Citizens Advisory Council to be reintegrated into the Council.

The Portmore Citizens Advisory Council comprises representatives of Citizen Associations, Church Leaders leaders, youth Clubs and other community groups.
