Digicel offers millions for Christmas promotion

Digicel's Christmas promotion is now on and there is a whopping $60 million in cash and prizes from which more than 200,000 customers will win, making this the company's biggest winning pool ever.

The telecommunications company also rolled out a 60-second, suspense-filled movie-themed television advertisement which, for the first time, features all of Digicel's local and regional brand ambassadors, including Usain Bolt in character as 'The Director' and Miss Kitty as 'Agent MK'.

Under the theme, 'Your Christmas, Our Mission', the promotion will see three sets of grand-prize winners being selected per county - three first-place winners of $1 million each, three second-place winners of $500,000 each, and three third-place winners of $100,000 cash, smartphones and data plans.

Eight weekly winners will also get their bills paid for a year, plus many other winners will be given smartphones, 4G data plans, and call credit.

"Our number-one mission is to always deliver value to our customers year-round," said Digicel Jamaica's Marketing Director Peter Lloyd. "With Christmas being a big time of year for Jamaicans, we want to do something innovative that reaches as many of our customers as possible, and this suspense-filled television advert has helped us to accomplish that."

Customers enter the promotion by topping up, talking for 10 minutes, activating a data plan, or purchasing a device.

Each time a customer enters the promotion, they also get a letter to spell the word 'MISSION' to get an instant prize.

"Customers can also buy a letter for $5, and the more they spell MISSION, the greater their chances of unlocking the ultimate MISSION," Lloyd added, hinting at more to come.

Digicel is also hosting a grand concert at the Mandela Park in Half-Way Tree where customers will compete in a mission-filled obstacle course to vie for $100,000 cash.
